So I have been frequenting the plaza with Koko's Chicken and Matcha Cafe Maiko a lot recently. There are so many new stores opening in this area. The plaza is becoming alive again! It felt so dead ever since the the Korean supermarket Hannam Chain closed. But now, there is liveliness from the ever so popular Somi Somi Ice Cream, Ding Tea, Chao Dem (Vietnamese Congee Restaurant), Koko's Chicken, Matcha Cafe Maiko, R&B Tea, etc.
On my recent visits, I noticed a new store opening up. And lo and behold it is one of the most anticipated food trends ever that I am SO EXCITED FOR!

I rushed over and saw the COMING SOON SIGN! Went in another day (on my way to Matcha Cafe Maiko) and I saw people inside! What? Were they influencers? Why was I not invited (jealous). Oh, but they don't look like typical IG influencers. They look all Korean. Maybe they are family? Employees?
I was soooooooo excited and observed that it was not yet open to the public. However, I wandered in front awkwardly until I finally had the courage to open the door (hopefully not rudely) to ask when their grand opening was.

OPENING DATE:
Chung Chun Rice Dog (Chung Chun Ssal Dog) opens on Thursday, August 15 from 5pm-11pm. They will have an official Grand Opening (TBD) offering free drinks for 3 days as well! #youhearditherefirst!
*update 8/10/19: This article previously stated the opening date to be August 14. The owner has just informed me that they have to delay opening until August 15, Thursday due to supplies/shipping. See you all there on Thursday!
I LOVE CHEESY HOT DOGS!
I have never tried Chung Chun Rice Dog before, but I am a huge fan of Korean style cheesy hot dogs! I fell in obsession with them during my time in Korea last summer when I had it for the first time from Myung Rang (opening soon in Buena Park). I absolutely love how so damn cheesy they are and how crispy the outer layers are from the fries. My fave is the squid ink and adding fries to them!
MENU:
Their menu features a variety of hot dogs including squid ink flavored hot dogs, sweet potato covered hot dogs, regular potato fries covered hot dog, noodle covered hot dog, and more!
