If you love Coffee Code, famous for intricate latte art and good coffee, then you will also love Bardot Bars and Coffee! Because one of the owners used to work at Coffee Code or something like that so expect some good latte art here!
This place has an interesting origin. It originally opened in Los Angeles (?) Or maybe it was San Diego. My memory of the story is vague right now but due to naming conflicts they moved to Farmers Direct Supermarket in Irvine and called that their home for awhile. Unfortunately, that space was tiny and had barely any seating. An a coffee shop inside a supermarket is just sorta inconvenient.
And all the meanwhile, Bardot Bars and Coffee opened in Seoul, and their trendy ice cream popsicles with the red lips caught on with the crowd over there and the brand itself became synonymous with Korean celebrities and pop stars. They even have EXO bars! Bardot Bars is probably more well-known in Korea than it is here.
Anyway, the shop closed their Irvine location and recently opened in Tustin about a month ago! They are debuting a new concept too: tattooed lattes. Basically, you can take a selfie and add your own photo on any latte drink! The pic turns out to be a sepia tone because of the coffee colors. How cool is that!
