Sunmerry Bakery located in Irvine is catching the hype wave by adding the shingen mochi / raindrop cake onto their menu. What makes this bakery different is that they are also adding a new type of flavor which they claim as their invention: the fresh strawberry with condensed milk and graham crackers!
I've already tried the Raindrop Cake in New York and I can tell you that I wasn't very impressed. But it's quite picture worthy!
I think Sunmerry's version with the slice of strawberry inside the clear jelly-like dessert is definitely even more picture worthy and actually I'd probably drive down to Irvine to try this!
The original flavor has soybean powder (kinako / injeolmi) and brown sugar syrup.
According to their Facebook, this dessert is available until the end of summer!
I haven't been to this bakery but just from looking at their yelp, this place seems so worthy of a visit! Apparently, they have green tea croissants and I am a total green tea fan!
