After my friends and I had a belly-full day at the 626 Night Market in Santa Anita Park (Arcadia), we decided to end the night with a boba run to Half and Half because...why not? It's in the area so might as well!

That Sunday night, a bunch of cops basically blocked off a street that the GPS directed us to go through. Instead of taking only about 15 minutes, it took us probably a good 10 more minutes to get to Half and Half because we had to take a detour (why so many cops at midnight?!) but luckily, the Monterey Park location doesn't close until 12:30am! Don't trust yelp, just CALL THEM! My yelp said the place closes at 12:00 which means that we never would have made it... but I called the store and was happily informed that they close a half hour later than midnight. YAY!

When Lexi and I arrived to meet up with Jerry and Mari, I was quite surprised that the area seemed so lively. There were so many people just chillin around the area even though it was already past midnight! Am I getting too old or something...? The Half and Half was not crowded at all. In fact, there was no line at all. Lexi and I took some time to figure out what we wanted because there are just too many choices. I finally decided to try the exotic sounding tea drink: a small sized iced osmanthus oolong jade green tea with boba with only 1/4 sugar. I was very specific about the sugar because I haaaaaate drinking anything too sweet because I end up feeling lethargic and sometimes even become jittery. The drink tasted great! Not too sweet and very refreshing and flowery. I felt like I had a flower bloom inside me. It was that nice tasting!

I only have been to Half and Half about 3 times in my entire life and I'm never disappointed. Well actually, the amount of ice disappoints me. PLEASE PUT LESS ICE HALF AND HALF PLEASE! Aside from that, all the drinks I've tried so far are great. I've had the honey milk tea with taro pudding and boba and it's bombbbbb. I love the taro pudding and I also love their regular egg pudding. They're all fantastic! There's something y'all should beware of this place though is that the customer service is not top notch. They are busy and want you to order correctly. Don't blame them if you ordered incorrectly... it's your fault basically. So, get your order right! They also never once have asked me what size I wanted... they just assume I want a small SO MAKE SURE TO GET YOUR ORDER RIGHT! They don't ever ask you about how sweet you want yours either... instead, all these warnings I'm telling y'all about are in the form of signs. There are so many signs at the cash register that I zone out and don't even read it most of the time.

OVERALL:

1. Boba is soft and chewy and fresh tasting!
2. Service is aiiiiiiiight... it's got that "busy tell me your order quickly" vibe
3. Sooooo many options!
4. The size of the drink is huuuuuge!
5. I recommend any milk tea ^__^

P.S. THE HONEY BOBA ITSELF IS SUPER SWEET ALREADY, SO THAT'S ANOTHER REASON WHY I ONLY GET 1/4 SWEETENER FOR THE DRINK ITSELF!
