GEEKING OUT @ THE GUNDAM CAFE - AKIHABARA

GUNDAM CAFE
LOCATION: AKIHABARA JR STATION --> EXIT ELECTRIC TOWN EXIT --> WALK STRAIGHT OUT FOR LESS THAN 1 MIN. --> GUNDAM CAFE IS ON THE RIGHT SIDE NEXT TO THE AKB48 CAFE & THEATRE

NOTE: THERE IS ANOTHER GUNDAM CAFE IN ODAIBA (TOKYO DIVER CITY). THAT IS WHERE THE GIANT GUNDAM ROBOT IS! WILL POST PHOTOS SOON!

THIS IS ME TRYING TO SPREAD PEACE TO TOKYO'S ELECTRIC TOWN! I HONESTLY DON'T REMEMBER WHY EVERYONE WAS JUST WALKING OUT AND ABOUT IN THE STREETS THOUGH... WAS THERE AN EVENT GOING ON THAT DAY?!

I THOUGHT THE ART ON THESE CARS WERE REALLY COOL SO I JUST HAD TO TAKE A PHOTO! AND WHO DOESN'T LOVE VOCALOIDS!? THE TECH IS JUST SO AWESOME!

HATSUNE MIKU CONCERTS FEATURES HER HOLOGRAM! ONE DAY, MAYBE I'LL GO TO HER CONCERT! FOR NOW, I'LL JUST ENJOY THE VOCALOID SONGS!

THIS IS SOMEWHERE ON THE STREETS OF AKIHABARA

This place is pretty freaking cool! I can't believe they have a Gundam Cafe here in Tokyo. I personally don't watch Gundam and no nothing about it but it's popular enough to have it's own cafe in more than one location too! This is the Akihabara (Electric Town) location and it's right next to the AKB48 cafe (They're even bigger with a theatre AND restaurant...).

If you don't want to dine in there's a TO-GO section that sells Gundam shaped taiyaki! It's basically cake with a Gundam imprint and there are multiple options of filling! There's ham and cheese, cheese only, and red bean paste I think. I go thte ham and cheese one time and it was SUPER HOT but very delicious! And a cool edible souvenir in my memories too.

This time, my friend An and I dined in and honestly, everything was preeeeeetty pricey. So we just ordered one dish and shared it. I don't remember what it was called but it's basically a pasta dish that is Gundam themed! It was around $10-$12 but I think it was worth it for a one-time experience especially since we both shared it. The decor was cool too! Everything was Gundam themed and there were big card-board cut outs of Gundam characters. Even the menu itself was so cool! You can take it home as a souvenir too. In fact, it says so in Japanese (but if it's for souvenir and targeted for tourists...it should be in English too right?!) You just have to check it out if you ever go to Akiba!
