THIS IS SO REPRESENTATIVE OF KOREA IN MY OPINION! THE LITTLE NOTES HANGING ON THIS WALL WRITTEN BY CUSTOMERS ARE ALSO COMMONLY FOUND IN COFFEESHOPS IN KOREA AS WELL!
KEVIN IS TRYING TO SHAZAM THE SONG BEING PLAYED !
YES! THEY ARE OPEN UNTIL 4PM ON JULY 4 !!
THIS IS WHAT IT REALLY LOOKS LIKE. THE CAFE IS ON THE SAME FLOOR AS... THE DANCE "ROOM"
THE MENU IS IN A PHOTO ALBUM FORMAT?! WOW. I HAVEN'T SEEN THIS IN SUCH A LONG TIME! I REMEMBER GOING TO CUTE FAMILY-OWNED COFFEESHOPS IN KOREA AND A LOT OF THEM HAVE PHOTO ALBUMS FOR THEIR MENUS TOO! SOOO CUTE AND NEAT!
I'm kind of glad that this place is a bit hard to find. Because that way, it can be kept as a secret spot and would not be too crowded. I could hog it all to myself (and share with the people who DO know where this place is...). It is located on the 2nd floor of a fitness center/spa. Believe me, it was SO DIFFICULT to find. Kev and I literally went in a square 3 times until I finally read a Yelp review that clued us in on the location. Thanks Yelpers!
Once you enter, you'll be at the first floor of a spa/fitness center. You'll see a clipboard hanging on the wall that says CAFE MAJI / SPA. You'll sign your name up and indicate which facility you are using. We put Cafe Maji of course.
On the 2nd floor, we noticed that it's actually very spacious. Cafe Maji is on the same floor as a dance studio (should it be considered a studio since it's wide open with no barriers/doors?! You can literally eat and drink while watching other people...?!?!). There is also a sauna on the 2nd floor too if I observed correctly.
The decor was beyond my expectations. The first thing that popped into my head was "Omg so Korean! So romantic and cute! Especially with the chill coffeeshop appropriate Korean songs playing!"
The workers were friendly and nice even though they were working on Independence Day Holiday. We sat down at whatever table we wanted and were given menus in the form of a photo album. How cute! I couldn't decide for a long time what I actually wanted to order...
After ordering and satisfying my cute food cravings, Kev and I took many photos of the place and of us in the place. We were so distracted that even the workers got distracted. We literally walked out the building and suddenly felt like something was wrong. WE NEVER PAID. Being good model citizens we walked back and notified them about how we never got the bill and never paid. They were so thankful and honestly, were a bit surprised because they too did not realize we didn't pay. What a funny day... ^__^
HERE'S A FOOD & EXPERIENCE RECAP:
- FRENCH VANILLA OREO LATTE ($5.50)
- I DON'T USUALLY DRINK COFFEE BUT THIS WAS SO GOOD
- REMINDED ME OF VIETNAMESE COFFEE!
- AND THEY PUT MINT OREOS ON TOP! I LOVE MINT ... OREOS...*DROOLS...*
- TARO TEA LATTE ($5.25)
- THE FLAVOR IS SPOT ON AND STRONG
- THE CUTE BEAR IS TOO ADORABLE TO DRINK
- YOU CAN REQUEST A DIFFERENT ART
- BULGOGI QUESADILLA WITH ADDED JALEPENOS ($7.75)
- VERYYYYYY CHEEEEESY!
- THE CHEESE WAS STRINGY AND MELTED SO WELL TOO!
- THIS WAS A GREAT CHOICE AND ALSO ONE OF THEIR POPULAR ITEMS
- BASIL PESTO CLUB SANDWICH WITH ADDED BACON ($9.50)
- THE MOST POPULAR FOOD ITEM
- IT WAS SURPRISINGLY DELICIOUS! THE BACON IS A GREAT ADD-ON (1.50 MORE)
- I DEFINITELY RECOMMEND
- SERVICE
- FOOD CAME OUT FASTER THEN EXPECTED!
- WORKERS WERE FRIENDLY BUT DON'T EXPECT THEM TO HAVE A FULL ON CONVERSATION WITH YOU!
- HONESTLY, I WAS A BIT SKEPTICAL ABOUT THE FOOD ITEMS BECAUSE I THOUGHT, "OH IT'S JUST A COFFEESHOP. MAYBE THE FOOD WON'T BE THAT GOOD." BUT BOY WAS I WRONG. IT WAS ACTUALLY TASTY AND WELL-PREPARED! DUNNO ABOUT THAT PRICE THOUGH... BECAUSE IT IS PRETTY EXPENSIVE FOR WHAT IT IS BUT MY BELL WAS HAPPY.
- THIS IS A GREAT PLACE FOR COUPLES OR JUST GIRLFRIENDS HANGING AND HAVING GIRL TALK!
