INSTEAD OF BEING GIVEN MINTS AFTER THE MEAL, THE SERVER GAVE US THESE DELICIOUS BURGERS! YUMMMMMMMY! KEV AND I WERE SO EXCITED TO SEE THESE BECAUSE IT'S SO NOSTALGIC FROM OUR CHILDHOOD
ATE ALL THE COTTON CANDY!
I'M SO GLAD THIS PLACE OPENS LATE! IT OPENS UNTIL 12AM Y'ALL... THAT'S MIDNIGHT! PERFECT FOR LATE NIGHT EYEGASMIC DESSERT THAT WILL SATISFY YOUR SWEET TOOTH FOR SURE!
So Kev and I were in the area and decided to try this place out. I really wanted some dessert after a satisfying meal at KARIYA ALL YOU CAN EAT SHABU SHABU AND KBBQ which is basically only 5 minutes away from MILK AND HONEY CAFE! How convenient! And I didn't want to go to CHA20 because that place is basically the same restaurant as TEBO TEBO LOUNGE but with a different restaurant name (menu items have exactly same name and pics) and I've already been there too many times.
We were not disappointed. Milk and Honey Cafe has a large menu that includes milk tea, flavored teas, even coffee with cotton candy and tea with cotton candy! They have waffle ice cream sandwiches and when I saw someone order that, I thought that it was so legit. The ice cream waffle sandwich is basically pre-frozen so it looks well-made and easy to eat like a sandwich with your hands! Some people might not prefer this because it is not made fresh, but hey, at least you can hold it with your hands and bite into it like an actual sandwich instead of having a freshly made waffle melt the ice cream while you eat it!
The best item on the menu in my opinion are the brick toasts. They have matcha green tea brick toast here. In addition to that, they even have the cutest too-cute-to-eat brick toast special with ice cream that looks like a teddy bear, monkey, etc. YOU CAN EVEN MAKE A SPECIAL REQUEST FOR $2 EXTRA DOLLARS. I really wanted the Totoro design but the chef said they didn't have the ingredients for that one (which is a special request anyways). I ended up ordering the Teddy Bear House Special Brick Toast and damn, the intricate cute design is just TO DIE FOR! I was squealing inside and outside when it came out!
Kev and I also ordered the milk tea with cotton candy and pudding as an add-on. According to the waitress, we were supposed to poke the cotton candy with our straw so that we could sip the milk tea and the cotton candy at the same time. Kev and I just ended up eating the cotton candy itself! We also got an extra cotton candy because the chef thought we had ordered two drinks with cotton candy. We got the 2nd cotton candy for free because of that misunderstand but who's complaining? ^__^ I LOVE COTTON CANDY! WOO!
They also sell potted ice cream here as well! It's basically a brown cup that looks like a plant pot and they put ice cream inside the cup topped with oreos and mint leaves (?) to make it look like a plant! The spoons are shaped like a shovel so when you eat it, it's like your digging a plant! Cute!
Overall:
- everything is CUTE CUTE CUTE! I JUST WANTED TO ORDER EVERYTHING because everything was so instagram-worthy!
- the prices are not cheap but reasonable for what it is in my opinion
- the brick toast takes 30 minutes to make because of the time needed to execute the intricate and cute designs
- special requests will take about 45 min to make: I've seen people special request hello kitty, a pig, totoro, etc.
- the brick toast is kind of hard to eat though....BUT SO CUTE
- if you're not into sweets, this may be too much to handle but if you love sweet things, THIS PLACE IS HEAVEN!
- the place is kind of small, with about maybe 6 small-medium tables.
- open late!
I'm definitely coming here again! I don't like to drive too far for my foodie adventures and this place is reasonable. Only about 25 minutes from my house. I wanted to try CAFE MAJI but that place is too far... since it is in ARCADIA and maybe around 35-45 minutes from my house. So, MILK AND HONEY CAFE is a close-enough place for me to splurge on cute food! ^__^
