THIS IS WHAT HEAVEN WOULD LOOK LIKE IF IT WAS A CRONUT
I GOT THE LAST ONE THAT THEY HAD AT THE MOMENT AND THEY WARMED IT UP FOR ME. IT WAS YUMMY BUT I WISH THE HAM&BACON ALSO INCLUDED JALAPENOS. NOW THAT WOULD BE A TRIPLE THREAT!
I GOT THE S'MORES CRONUT. FREAKIN DELICIOUS. DAMNNNNNNNN THEY KNOW HOW TO MAKE CRONUTS!
THE FAMOUS & UNIQUE UBE DONUTS. (PURPLE YAM THAT IS COMMON IN FILIPINO ESTABLISHMENTS)
OKAY. THEY BASICALLY HAVE EVERYTHING.
FOLLOW THEM ON INSTAGRAM / FACEBOOK @ FRIENDLYDONUTSORANGE
YOU CAN EVEN CALL THEM TO SEE WHAT THEY HAVE MADE FRESH OR TO ORDER AS WELL! I FOLLOW THEM ON INSTAGRAM AND GET UPDATED ON THEIR PRODUCTS. THEY ARE ALWAYS COMING UP WITH NEW THINGS!!
I DON'T KNOW WHY I GO ON DIETS ANYMORE.... xD
"I'M ALREADY FULL JUST LOOKING AT IT" - RANDOM STRANGER IN THE STORE
"THIS IS NOT DESSERT... THIS IS A MEAL!" - ANOTHER RANDOM STRANGER THAT'S FRIENDS WITH THE OTHER STRANGER
IT'S LIKE THOSE STRANGERS READ MY MIND! I couldn't believe my eyes when I walked into this store. Everything looked too good and too enticing. I was really tempted to buy just about everything! The cronuts especially, are beautifully hand-designed by the owner. It is the design that fascinated me so much! I couldn't take my eyes off the cronut/dossants! WOW!
It wasn't just the dossants that amazed me (they call it dossants here) but also the vast menu of various food and drink items that they offer. This place is a one stop shop for like... everything. (However, they did not have the horchata that I was ever so craving for and neither did they have the mangonada/chamoy that I wanted at that time.) They even have acai bowls. I saw someone order one of those babies and it looked really fresh and yummy.
I wish I could have tried / bought everything but my wallet would not have permitted that. Neither would my stomach...even though my heart was screaming yes yes yes!
My friend Christina & I ordered a few to try. The owner was extremely helpful and friendly. She was great at giving suggestions and also was super happy to let me take as many pictures as I pleased. We got the ube donut, the s'mores dossant, the cookies & cream dossant, the caramel delight donut (yes, the one that is inspired by the Girl Scout cookies), strawberry shortcake dossant, & red velvet donut. It came out to be around $10 ish (honestly, I don't really remember the price, just the delishness). I also got the ham&cheese&bacon croissant warmed up! We exited the store feeling like fatties...because...well, we bought a lot for two people! (I got my own box of basically the same thing.)
HOW DID THEY TASTE?
- the donuts/dossants: the flavor for each was mostly apparent. You could definitely tell what the flavor was for most of them. For the glazed ube donut however, according to my friend (I didn't try it), the flavor was overpowered by the glaze which made it too sweet. My favorite was the s'mores dossant. I loved the toasted marshmallows (I'm a sucker for mashymellos) and ate the dossant in two pieces. It was fantastically flaky. The rest though, although they are tasty, they are way way too sweet for me. And I only had 1/4 of each of them to try the taste too.
- the ham & cheese & bacon croissant: This was huge! I became pretty full just from eating it because of how much croissant/flour it is. I wish it had more meat though. I also wish it had jalapenos! Food tastes bland to me if it has no spice so my comment on this is pretty biased.
By the way, if the store doesn't have what you want, ask them about it and they will make it fresh to order on the spot. The owners are super amicable and don't mind at all!
******One thing about this place that confused me though is the way they label their items. Some of the labels were in the wrong place and most of the items did not even have labels. Because of that, I had to ask what every single one was (although some are obvious to the eye). Because my memory is like a goldfish sometimes when I'm too mesmerized by food, I'll forget what they told me so I'll have an even harder and take an even longer time deciding what I want!
