I would like to introduce a new series called Meet My Taste Buds where I introduce to y'all all of the awesome friends that deal with my random late night cravings, spontaneous foodventures, food rants that they probably could care less about but still listen to and just so much more. These are my Taste Buds, buddies who are willing to go out of their way or to make time to feast with me and try new things with me. Y'all the real MVPs!
I am really grateful to call be able to call Nancy one of my Taste Buds. Of course, she is not only my Taste Bud, but a great friend whom I've had the pleasure of knowing ever since high school! That's over a decade of friendship!
Honestly, I have always been jealous of her penmanship. Why does she write so nicely and neatly?!
Good food always goes well with good company, right?
While I was studying abroad in Japan through the UCEAP program with UCI, Nancy was also on her way to study abroad in France.
And I am so happy that she decided to take a detour to Japan before going to France!
Now I can say that we traveled together in another country!
Nancy and I were able to trek across Tokyo for a few days. This is when we visited the shrine called Meiji Shrine in Harajuku Japan. It's one of the most visited shrines and a hotspot for tourists to go to! Especially since it's near and in the center of all the other tourist areas!
Sometimes I drag Nancy to my media events. It's always a fun time with her. We also love posing with food. We are such professionals at it, don't ya think?
I have a bad habit of scrolling through Facebook newsfeeds and Instagram feeds once I wake up and before I sleep. I know it's bad when I can't even put my phone down when I'm trying to sleep (or am I really trying...?)
"AHHHHHHHH!!"
I would scream that inside whenever I find some place interesting.
"OMG I NEED TO GO HERE ASAP!"
*Immediately texts Nancy*
"OMG NANCY!! DO YOU WANNA GO TO THIS PLACE WITH ME? THERE IS THIS NEW PLACE WITH THIS NEW THING"
or something like that is what I'd end up texting Nancy about.
And so Nancy usually says yes to going and we plan our food adventures!
Not only does she help me be less of a loner at all these food adventures and events though, I know I could always count on her as someone to vent to, rant to, and bug about random things.
I know we may not go on as many adventures as we did before. And we don't talk to each other as much anymore. But it's never a dull moment with her when we hang out and catch up. And it's never awkward either.
It's like nothing has changed and we just pick up where we've left off!
I'd like to say thank you to her for always being down to try all these different foods and drinks and events with me. Most of the time it's like super random too! Haha
Thanks for accompanying me! <3
I look forward to so many more adventures with ya!
