NANCY'S FIRST TIME GETTING THE TORNADO POTATO!!
WE ALWAYS GET DDUKBUKKI EVERY TIME WE GO TO THE KFEST!
I RECOMMEND THIS 7 TEAPOT PLACE! IT'S ACTUALLY PRETTY CHEAP AND SO YUMMY!!
THIS MAY LOOK SMALL, BUT DAMN IT WAS A LOT OF DDUKBUKKI FOR JUST NANCY AND I! $10 THOUGHHH
NOMTOM & METOO PERFORMING!
GOT TO TAKE A PHOTO WITH THE AMAZINGLY TALENTED KRNFX! HE WAS BEATBOXING AND DJING! WHOAAA
AND OF COURSE, DUMBFOUNDEAD KILLLLLED THE STAGE Y'ALL!
AND THEN I MET THE FIRE NATION AND SAW THEIR FIREBENDING SKILLS. WHERE WAS THE AVATAR? (ANY AVATAR FANS OUT THERE?!)
I LOVE KOREAN COSMETICS!!
Now I possibly know why the KFEST is moved to Buena Park. The mini Ktown is totally thriving there! There seems to be more Korean stores and business in Buena Park than there is in Garden Grove now! Did all the Koreans move or what?!
The festival itself made me feel all excited and giddy. I felt like I haven't been to a festival in forevers! I also felt super nostalgic about everything. (I always do.) I miss Korea so much and the festival and the mini Ktown reminded me so much!
This year the festival seems to be a lot bigger (if you don't count that time 3 years ago in 2011 when it actually had games and rides in Garden Grove similar to the Strawberry Festival) because it seemed to be more of a "Night Market" with cliche Night Market booths such as the Elote Corn, Mainsqueeze, Mister Potato, The Ice Cream Garden or whatever it's called that makes the potted ice cream plants, and etc.
The performances were amazing this year! Although I was a bit disappointed that they didn't have the typical "Kpop Star" guest like they used to (Loveholic, Kim Tae Woo, little boy from Psy's Gangnam Style, etc.) they did have amazing stars rocking the stage such as Dumbfoundead, NomTom & Meetoo and Krnfx!
There are many other booths such as clothing booths, jewelry (forever 21 and nordstrom sample sale), accessories, even a budweiser beer garden, Korean cosmetics booths (Tony Moly + Nature Republic), popular dried foods and other types of food market, etc!
I was also on a mission to buy sunblock from Nature Republic because I knew they were gonna be at the festival. They have their own little pop-up shop and everything was discounted to like 50% off! I was so mesmerized by all the unique and strange products that it took me forever to just leave satisfied with only the sunblock. They had the snail serums and creams, interesting facial masks with avocado and bamboo and snails, and many many bb creams and cc creams. I bought the california aloe sun block 50+spf. I personally really like it and I love that it has "whitening" so my face will brighten up! It's basically the only "makeup" I wear aside from eyeliner. I've been using Nature Republic sun block for almost 2 years now and love ittttttt!
I also discovered that in the Ktown Plaza (the plaza with the 85degrees, HMART, Daiso, etc. also now has The Face Shop! Another popular Korean cosmetics shop! Wow! No need to go to L.A.'s Ktown now with this thriving new community in Buena Park! I ended up buying lip masks from The Face Shop (just opened in June) but couldn't take my eyes off of their other products. Korean cosmetics always have the cutest packaging that makes me just wanna spend all my money!
Next to The Face Shop is Chocolate Chair which is also a new liquid nitrogen ice cream store that also serves Korean style shaved ice (patbingsu) that also just opened around June 2014. Everything was so new and cool! I wasn't feeling dessert (what a shocker!) so I didn't get any ice cream but next time I will for sure check this ice cream store out! ^___^
